Chulalongkorn University is proud to announce its role as host for The First International English Language and Literary Studies conference on the theme of Expanding Horizons in English Language and Literary Studies (ELLS) on October 18-20, 2011 at the Montien Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand.

The conference aims to promote English Language and Literary Studies in the world of globalization and serve as a forum to encourage an exchange of ideas among academics from worldwide. Papers are invited on all aspects of English and Literary studies.


English has become the primary language for communication in today’s world and it remains a language with a long and rich literary tradition that enjoys a worldwide interest. Bringing these two aspects of English language instruction together in a large and varied forum is the goal of this conference. we hope that the conference will provide not only stimulating and insightful presentations on both linguistic and literary topics, but that it will also provide academics from both tracks with the chance to come together in a spirited environment in which they can exchange ideas by participating in lively academic discussions and seminars.
